Day 7 - Ardeonaig to Acharn - 8 miles

We started our walk on the next section beginning at Ardeonaig outside the hotel. There is a great book exchange thing there in the old telephone box! I love books but I already have quite a pile to read back home! Nice idea though.

This stretch was on fairly flat roads. The views were across the loch towards Ben Lawers (the tenth highest munro in Scotland) and the other munro hills on the north side of Loch Tay. As we walked along we saw sheep and lambs in the fields. One of my pictures here shows some of the rams. We also spotted a coffee spot being run by one of the farms who had converted one of those hay bale metal things very cleverly to make some neat little seating areas !

Watch out - Red Squirrels about ! All drivers were very sensible - except for one Learner driver doing about 40 plus mph on a very narrow road with little space for pedestrians to escape.

There were a few new build houses along this stretch, mostly using natural stone though with very rectangular shapes to them. I might have preferred something that blended even better with the countryside but they were using all sorts of modern eco technology such as grass roofs, solar panels etc. Interesting - a few candidates for Scotland's Home of the Year !

We reached the end for today - the next part will be up to the Falls of Acharn and onwards from there towards Aberfeldy!
