Day 4 - Strathyre to Lochearnhead (about 5.5 miles)

We walked this stage in February 2023. We left Strathyre by following a forest track above the east side of the glen and climbed up through a beautiful forest. We then walked down past the Mhòr 84 Motel, which was formerly called the Kinghouse Hotel. The route then followed a cycle path to eventually join what will be the next stage of our walk - the line of the old railway high above Lochearnhead. Our destination though for Day4 was Lochearnhead.

After we'd finished our day of walking, we took one of our car to make that essential visit to see the grave of Rob Roy at Balquidder churchyard, which is just off the main route.

I always love those old signposts!

Signs of beavers though I think I had heard they've been moved elsewhere?

A nice walk in winter with limited daylight and that was our walk finished for the day.

We then went to look for Rob Roy's Grave at Balquidder churchyard which is a slight diversion from the route. We drove our car to see this.

we saw this information panel earlier on the route.
